Les animaux au travail créent du lien, rendent plus créatifs, adoucissent l’ambiance et désamorcent les tensions. Alors, amener son toutou au bureau : pour ou contre ? On vous dit tout sur cette nouvelle tendance !
Un vecteur de communication et un réducteur de stress
Dans les entreprises, une nouvelle pratique est en train de décoller et consiste à amener son fidèle compagnon avec soi au travail. Ne vous étonnez plus de croiser des petites boules de poils dans les couloirs, la pratique se développe de plus en plus et ce… y compris à l’Elysée ! Et oui, même le Président s’y met : tous les jours, Nemo, le chien d’Emmanuel et Brigitte Macron, parcourt le Palais présidentiel pendant que ses maîtres travaillent.
Beaucoup de psychologues s’accordent pour venter les mérites de la toutouthérapie en tant que nouvelle méthode pour accroitre le bien-être en entreprise. En effet, selon eux, le chien permet de créer une présence affective apaisante, qui favorise la cohésion sociale. Notre animal de compagnie devient ainsi un véritable créateur de lien social dans les équipes : c’est un intermède qui détend, allège l’atmosphère et suscite des conversations. Au placard la pause autour de la machine à café, c’est désormais un instant de jeu avec le chien du collègue qui prime ! De nombreux salariés affirment d’ailleurs que lorsqu’ils amènent leur animal au boulot il y a plus de lien avec les collègues, plus de « bonjour », plus d’intérêt à demander des nouvelles.
Si avoir un chien au boulot nous permet de renforcer la cohésion et l’esprit d’équipe, c’est aussi un super booster pour l’inspiration et la créativité. Autoriser les animaux à rentrer dans nos espaces de travail c’est tout simplement une garantie de favoriser la motivation des salariés ! Comme le montre une étude américaine de 2012 réalisée par des chercheurs de l’école de commerce de la Virginia Common Wealth University, 8 salariés sur 10 se sentent plus heureux quand des animaux partagent leur journée et éprouvent plus de plaisir à venir travailler. Cela leur permet également de se concentrer plus facilement et de communiquer plus simplement avec leurs collègues. L’étude montre même que, lorsque l’on alterne des jours avec ou sans animaux dans l’entreprise, l’humeur des salariés varie en fonction de cette présence (les jours sans, l’ambiance était plus tendue).
Autre bienfait non négligeable pour le bien-être au travail : avoir son chien près de soi permet de réduire considérablement le stress. Les balades en extérieurs deviennent obligatoires pendant la journée et cette petite bulle d’air fait bien souvent des miracles : en obligeant le propriétaire à faire des pauses en extérieur, on lui permet de prendre de la distance sur les tâches qu’il est en train de faire ce qui, dans de nombreux cas, facilite les déblocages et la recherche de solutions.
Parfois, avoir son toutou au boulot permet même d’améliorer les relations avec la hiérarchie, notamment lorsque l’on a un caractère quelque peu explosif. Pour éviter la crise de nerfs, une petite caresse à son fidèle compagnon est plus efficace que le paquet de cigarettes pour désamorcer une crise.
Si la toutouthérapie n’a donc plus besoin de prouver ses avantages sur la santé mentale des employés, cette pratique est aussi bénéfique pour notre ami poilu adoré. Un chien qui nous accompagne partout est un chien moins seul et donc heureux ! Cette pratique est reconnue par les vétérinaires qui affirment que les chiens deviennent plus doux, plus sereins et sociables. Si c’est une motivation pour travailler, c’est certainement aussi une incitation à l’adoption d’animaux puisque que beaucoup de salariés aimeraient avoir un chien mais ne franchissent pas le pas car ils ne pourraient pas s’en occuper durant la journée. La toutouthérapie c’est donc un coup de pouce pour les salariés mais aussi pour les centres animaliers ou refuges qui seraient certainement confrontés à plus d’adoptions et moins d’abandons.
Les initiatives qui font avancer la tendance bien-être
Pour encourager cette pratique, la marque d’aliments pour animaux Purina a lancé une grande campagne pour inciter 200 entreprises à ouvrir leur portes aux bêtes sur trois ans ( de 2017 à 2020). L’enjeu est de favoriser une relation plus harmonieuse avec l’animal et une ambiance plus détendue au travail mais il s’agit également le diminuer le cout social du stress, estimé en France entre deux et trois milliards d’euros (chiffres fournis par Purina).
Dans le cadre de sa campagne «Pets at work», largement diffusée sur le web, Purina communique ainsi sur les bienfaits de la présence animale au bureau afin d’inciter les entreprises à les accueillir dans leurs locaux. Comme le dit Isabelle Taillandier, directrice de la Business Unit Grande Distribution de Purina, « favoriser la présence des animaux aux travail fait partie des 10 engagements de notre programme sociétal, Purina in society, au même titre que la création d’emploi pour les jeunes ». Ce programme part donc bien de la conviction que les chiens ont un impact positif sur la santé mentale ainsi que sur le bien-être.
Le but de la campagne est de créer une véritable alliance internationale concernant 8 pays européens (France, Royaume-Uni, Espagne, Portugal, Suisse, Italie, Allemagne et Russie) en montrant que cette pratique fonctionne dans des secteurs d’activités très différents : outre Atlantique, les GAFA s’y sont mis tandis qu’en France nombreux sont les cabinets d’avocats ou d’administrateurs de biens qui accueillent volontiers les animaux.
D’ailleurs, 84% des propriétaires de chiens français rêvent, selon une étude Wamiz, de passer leurs journées de travail avec leur compagnon. Chez nos voisins, la pratique est déjà plus répandue notamment chez Zalando, le géant allemand de la vente de chaussures en ligne, où venir avec son animal est une pratique courante. Dans certains pays comme les Etats-Unis, l’Angleterre, les Pays-Bas ou l’Allemagne, c’est même rentré dans les moeurs puisque dans ces pays, chaque 23 juin, c’est le «bring your dog to work day» : initiative lancée en 1999 par l’organisation américaine Pet Sitters International. De quoi donner espoirs aux adeptes français de la pratique !
Et si les animaux c’est pas notre truc, on fait comment ?
Bien entendu, il ne faut pas exclure que les bêtes ne sont pas les meilleurs amis de tout le monde. Certains collègues ont peur des chiens, même des petits. D’autres sont allergiques. Et enfin, certains ne les aiment pas tout simplement ! Dans ces cas de figure, les journées de boulots en présence d’un animal ont l’effet totalement contraire de celui que nous avons cité précédemment : mauvaise humeur, déconcentration, problèmes de communication, tension…
En effet, ne pas aimer les animaux est un comportement mal vu et peu accepté socialement, il est donc difficile pour ces collègues réfractaires d’oser dire qu’ils n’aiment pas voir, sentir, entendre ou encore être collés par nos petites boules de poils. Pour éviter les conflits, il y a donc quelques petites règles faciles et simples à respecter. La première étant, avant d’imposer son toutou au bureau, de s’assurer que tous les collègues adhérent à la proposition.
La loi dans tout ça, elle dit quoi ?
Le code du travail n’interdit pas d’amener son animal au travail, seul le règlement intérieur de l’entreprise ou le refus de ses dirigeants peuvent vous l’interdire. La loi interdit cependant les animaux dans les administrations ainsi que dans le secteur alimentaire et de la santé.
Les entreprises privées ont donc une marge de manoeuvre importante et interdisent très peu souvent les animaux au boulot dans les faits, même si la majorité des français l’ignorent. Bien entendu, même si vous lisez le règlement intérieur de votre entreprise dans votre coin, pas question de ramener votre boule de poil au travail sans avoir préalablement prévenu et demandé l’autorisation à votre employeur. Si la demande est acceptée, le maitre est totalement responsable de son animal : en cas de dégradation du matériel, de morsure, d’accident ou d’un manque d’hygiène, sa responsabilité peut être engagée. Il faut donc penser à vérifier sa responsabilité civile avant tout !
En conclusion, voici les règles à respecter pour le bien de tous :
- Aménager dans l’entreprise un espace adapté aux chiens (point d’eau, gamelle etc) et leur interdire l’accès à certains espaces comme les toilettes ou le restaurant d’entreprise.
- Signaler sur la porte du bureau la présence de votre chien (à l’aide d’un autocollant ou d’une pancarte) pour en avertir les autres.
- Ne pas amener au travail de jeunes chiots « trop foufous » : les chiens doivent être propres et dressés.
- S’assurer que son chien est en bonne santé : tous les vaccins doivent être à jour.
- Ne pas amener de chiens au comportement agressif ni de chiens de catégorie 1 et 2 type pitbull ou rottweiler.
- Demander par précaution si les collègues sont d’accord, notamment lorsqu’on travaille en open space. Et surtout, ne rien imposer !

Hungary (AP) – Hungary has accused Ryanair of consumer protection violations after it
raised ticket prices to cope with a tax on what the government
calls « extra profits. » Justice Minister Judit Varga wrote Monday on Facebook that an investigation found « unfair trade practices, » leading to a $777,
058 fine.
It´s the first tied to the new tax, which led Ryanair and others to increase prices.
Hungary said costs shouldn´t be passed along to customers and that
the tax on industries from banking to insurance to airlines will aid the
