On le sait Instagram fait aujourd’hui circuler les informations à une vitesse éclair, que celles-ci soient vraies ou fausses, positives ou négatives. Depuis quelques années, de nombreux comptes se sont créés comme Balancetonagency ou Balancetastartup pour dénoncer les dessous sombres des entreprises et plus particulièrement des startup ou révéler des scandales. Mais ces révélations mènent souvent à un lynchage de la part des utilisateurs sur le compte de la marque, alors la question se pose : les comptes qui dénoncent les scandales top ou flop ?
Je vais aujourd’hui me pencher plus particulièrement sur le compte Balancetastartup qui rassemble 182 000 abonnés et qui se définit comme un « compte dédié à la libération de la parole dans l’écosystème start-up ».
En janvier 2020, un petit séisme secoue le monde des startup françaises et made in France. La marque Lou Yetu est mise sur le devant de la scène pour les mauvaises raisons. Le compte Balancetastartup sort des récits édifiants d’anciens employés, de stagiaires et de fournisseurs, racontant les pressions morales subies ou constatées et des cas de harcèlements signalés à la médecine du travail. Outre ces accusations, les posts décrivent également les mensonges quotidiens d’une marque qui revendique le «made in France» et une fabrication artisanale, alors qu’une grande partie de la production serait achetée toute faite en provenance de Chine via un fournisseur parisien.
Suite à cela, le compte Lou Yetu perd des centaines de milliers de followers sur les réseaux sociaux et un lynchage virtuel commence. Des milliers de commentaires affluent tous les jours sur le compte Instagram de la marque et, comme dans tous scandales, il devient de plus en plus difficiles de savoir les vraies et les fausses informations. Des story avec des accusations non vérifiées circulent et les commentaires vont même jusqu’aux insultes.
Le deuxième scandale en date qui permet de nous poser la question de la légitimité de ce genre de comptes est le scandale de Maison Stella&Suzie qui a éclot il y a quelques semaines. Ce sont un peu le même type d’accusations puisqu’il s’agit de témoignages d’employés peignant une atmosphère pesante dans l’entreprise, de propos de déplacés de la part de la patronne Margaux ou encore de pression mentale poussant au burn out des employés. La différence entre ces deux scandales est que pour Maison Stella&Suzie, la patronne, Margaux avait aussi un compte personnel sur Instagram en tant qu’influenceuse. Les répercussions ont donc été largement amplifiées. Les utilisateurs, ont commencé à commenter les photos de Margaux en masse en l’insultant, en parlant de sa famille et dépassant la frontière du respectable. Elle a été contrainte de bloquer les commentaires sous ses photos et de se taire sur les réseaux durant quelques jours afin « d’éviter » les vagues de haine à son égard. Le compte de la startup Stella&Suzie a lui aussi bien sur été affecté en perdant des dizaines de milliers de followers. Même si son comportement n’est absolument pas acceptable, d’autres manières de dénoncer les excès pourraient être mis en place pour éviter les dérives très sombres des réseaux sociaux.
Car on le sait, aujourd’hui, les mots sur les réseaux sociaux peuvent déclencher des réelles conséquences psychologiques voire des dépression graves.
Alors, au nom de la liberté d’expression, est-ce que dévoiler un scandale du jour au lendemain sur les réseaux sociaux sans se préoccuper des conséquences pour les personnes concernées, est-il la bonne solution ?
