Cette année encore, la Toulouse School of Management participe au Nudge Challenge (d’ailleurs, viens faire un tour sur l’article de Gaëlle pour découvrir l’édition 2017). Tu n’as jamais entendu parler de nudge ? ou alors tu es juste curieux de découvrir le travail de nos camarades ? Ne bouge pas, tu es au bon endroit !
Le Nudge, quésaco ?
Le nudge, littéralement traduit par “coup de pouce” consiste à influencer les choix des individus tout en leur laissant la liberté de décider.Autrement dit, ce concept marketing est une incitation dont la finalité est bienveillante : pousser les individus vers l’adoption d’un comportement vertueux. D’abord utilisé par les pouvoirs publics pour faire de nous de meilleurs citoyens, le nudge est de plus en plus utilisé par les marques et les institutions sanitaires et sociales. Nous sommes confrontés au nudge plus souvent que l’on pense ! Par exemple les ventes privées sur internet qui t’informent qu’il ne reste plus que deux exemplaires du sac à main que tu voulais tant, alors bien évidemment tu l’achètes (nous ne te jugeons pas, il n’en restait plus que deux enfin !)
Et la Toulouse School Of Management dans tout ça ?
C’est dans le but de promouvoir les pratiques du nudge auprès du grand public et de révéler au grand jour la créativité des participants, que l’association Nudge France met en place depuis 2015 le Nudge Challenge. Après les Challenges COP21 en 2015, Paris2024 en 2016 et GreenPeace en 2017,Nudge France a renouvelé l’expérience cette année avec pour problématique : comment encourager l’activité physique et sportive pour lutter contre la sédentarité à l’école, dans les universités, les entreprises, au domicile,…?
Ce concours est ouvert à tous les étudiants de niveau licence et plus, en France comme à l’international. Nos camarades du Master 2 chef de produit et études marketing ont participé à ce challenge, voici ce que proposait l’une des équipes.
Pour inciter les jeunes, notamment les étudiants, à emprunter les escaliers plutôt que l’ascenseur, l’équipe composée de Myriam, Célia, Candice et Emilie a mis en place le “What’s upstairs”. Leur proposition de nudge basée sur l’intrigue, consiste en une conversation sous forme de bulles de message type SMS. Ainsi, cette conversation est placée dans les escaliers de manière évolutive : pour découvrir la suite de la discussion l’étudiant doit gravir les marches d’escaliers.

En observant pendant une semaine le comportement des étudiants sans la mise en place du nudge, puis pendant une semaine avec le nudge, cette équipe a obtenu les résultats suivants :
-> AVANT le nudge : 70,56% empruntent les escaliers contre 29,44% qui prennent l’ascenseur
-> PENDANT le nudge : 80,15% empruntent les escaliers et 19,55% l’ascenseur

Myriam : J’ai trouvé le sujet du concours très impliquant car c’est une problématique à laquelle nous sommes tous confrontés quotidiennement: comment faire plus de sport de manière ludique? Le nudge était ainsi la meilleure manière de répondre à cet enjeu même si trouver une solution n’a pas été simple ! En effet, de longues heures de brainstorming ont été nécessaires ! Travailler en anglais, en équipe, être en compétition avec d’autres groupes venant de divers horizons et réaliser un projet qui sort du cadre scolaire s’est révélé très enrichissant ! Pour finir, s’il faut retenir quelque chose concernant le nudge, c’est qu’il s’agit souvent d’une action insignifiante en apparence mais capable de changer nos comportements durablement, ce que je trouve fascinant !
