On va plutôt s’intéresser à un autre membre de la team. Oui ! C’est bien à l’appareil photo instantané qu’on va s’intéresser les gars ! L’équipe des produits indémodables s’agrandit d’années en années et l’appareil photo instantané a fait une arrivée fracassante dans celle-ci.
Bon, déjà, remettons les choses au clair, si tu te demandes ce qu’est un appareil photo instantané, tu dois davantage le connaitre sous le nom plus utilisé de « polaroïd », ce petit (ou gros) appareil qui permet de sortir instantanément des photos argentiques et de garder des souvenirs matériels.
L’histoire de la photo en instantanée
Une question nous trotte tous dans la tête : mais comment est donc née cette invention de génie ? Allez un peu d’histoire, ça ne peut pas faire de mal. Voilà la réponse : un américain du nom d’Edwin Land a imaginé cet appareil en 1942 après que sa fille lui ait demandé pourquoi il n’était pas possible de voir les photos tout de suite après les avoir prises. A cette époque, cette idée est une véritable révolution dans le domaine de la photographie et peu de gens croient en la possibilité d’inventer un tel appareil photo. Finalement, force d’obstination, Edwin Land parvient à lancer un procédé stable d’appareil photo instantané. L’appareil photo « tout en un » est commercialisé, pour la première fois, en 1948 sous le nom « Polaroïd ». Il permet de sortir des photos en noir et blanc exclusivement jusqu’en 1963 grâce à l’invention du film Polacolor. Ce film connaitra de nombreuses améliorations au fil des années.
La marque Polaroïd
Vous l’aurez compris du coup, l’entreprise Polaroïd a été fondée par Edwin Land. Il l’a lancée en 1937 dans le but de commercialiser des lunettes de soleil à verres polarisants mais elle a pris un véritable tournant en 1948 après l’invention, par son fondateur, du premier appareil photo instantané du marché. Il devient alors le produit phare de l’entreprise et prend même son nom. Il a été l’allié des amateurs de photo mais aussi du domaine médical et des professionnels de la photographie. Le Polaroïd a connu de nombreuses évolutions au fil des années et a souvent changé de look.
Après l’essor de cette nouveauté durant de nombreuses années, le numérique a fait son apparition dans le domaine de la photographie. L’entreprise Polaroïd a énormément souffert de cela et a décidé d’arrêter définitivement la production des appareils photos instantanés en 2007.
Le renouveau
En 2012, la société Fujifilm perçoit la volonté des utilisateurs de conserver des souvenirs matériels de ses milliers de photos prises par le biais des appareils numériques bien que le numérique soit encore au cœur de la préoccupation des utilisateurs avec notamment le développement grandissant des smartphones. Fujifilm décide alors de repenser le principe de l’appareil photo instantané et de le relancer sur le marché en lui donnant un sacré coup de jeune. Et oui, le numérique c’est bien cool, ça a connu un véritable boum dans le monde entier mais le souci c’est qu’on a tendance a tout garder sous ce format et à ne plus prendre le temps de les regarder. Ca ne suffit donc plus !
C’est comme ça qu’est né le premier Instax Mini 8 de Fujifilm qui a, depuis, connu de nombreuses évolutions. En 2015, l’Instax Mini 8 a été le cadeau le plus offert à Noel !
Renaissance de Polaroïd
En parallèle à ce renouveau des appareils photos instantanés, onze anciens salariés de l’une des usines Polaroïd Corporation fermées aux Pays Bas ont décidé de rassembler des fonds pour racheter les quelques machines restantes de l’entreprise et relancer la production de films photographiques. Le projet a été nommé, initialement, « Impossible Project » de par sa difficulté. Il a, par la suite, été renommé « Polaroïd Originals ».
Le projet a été un succès puisqu’ils ont réussi à relancer la production de plusieurs sortes de films photographiques et de nouvelles générations d’appareils photos instantanés ont pu être lancées sous la marque Polaroïd Originals.
En vue du succès de ce renouveau de l’appareil photo instantané, d’autres marques telles que Lomography ou encore Kodak se sont lancées sur ce marché.
Aujourd’hui, il semble que le combo parfait soit d’avoir un smartphone disposant d’un appareil photo de bonne qualité pour pouvoir tout canarder ainsi qu’un de ces nouveaux appareils photos instantanés pour immortaliser certains moments précieux et pouvoir en garder un souvenir immédiat. C’est sûr qu’au prix des recharges de films, il vaut mieux avoir un plan B quand même ! On n’a pas dit que le numérique était complètement has been non plus…
