Il est impossible d’évoquer l’open Deauville Trouville (ODT) sans parler du Lawn Tennis Club Deauville Normandie (LTCDN). Inauguré en 2016, le projet du Lawn Tennis Club a débuté presque 10 ans auparavant suite à un article de presse et un constat : celui du manque de courts de tennis en gazon naturel en France.
D’une idée un peu folle les deux porteurs de projets Martin Besançon et Gregory Brussot, passionnés de tennis et amis d’enfance, en ont faits un complexe unique en France, voire même en Europe. En effet, le club est le seul sur gazon naturel en France à ouvrir ses portes à tous les joueurs sans obligation d’adhésion à l’année, licenciés ou non. Le club est ouvert à tous, débutant souhaitant expérimenter la pratique du tennis sur gazon comme joueur professionnel en recherche de courts en gazon naturel pour préparer Wimbledon.
Le Lawn Tennis Club en chiffres :
- 11 courts en gazon naturel dont un court central conçu pour pouvoir accueillir des grands événements (tournois ATP, WTA…)
- un club-house de 800m² comprenant des vestiaires professionnels, une salle de conférence, un bar et un pro shop.

L’OPEN DEAUVILLE TROUVILLE
Cette année la 4ème édition de l’Open Deauville Trouville se déroule du 12 au 15 juin 2019. Situé dans le calendrier au début de la saison sur gazon l’ODT est un tournoi professionnel préparatoire à Wimbledon. Dans cette optique, deux courts ont été construit à base d’argile. C’est la technique utilisée pour les plus grands tournois sur gazon (Queen’s, Stuttgart, Halle) et surtout par Wimbledon, qui a par ailleurs apporté au LTCDN son expertise dans la réalisation de ces courts.
En parallèle de l’ODT se déroulera la 3ème édition de l’Open Féminin du Calvados qui a également pour objectif de préparer les meilleures joueuses françaises à la saison sur gazon.
La spécificité de L’open Deauville Trouville réside également dans les modalités du tournoi qui prend la forme d’un CNGT (Circuit National des Grands Tournois). Cela signifie que le tournoi est ouvert à tous, les joueurs amateurs peuvent eux aussi s’inscrire ! À partir du 1er juin ces derniers s’affronteront et seulement les meilleurs d’entres eux accèderont au tableau principal où ils auront le privilège de jouer contre les joueurs professionnels.
Enfin ce qui fait le charme de l’Open Deauville Trouville c’est la simplicité, la convivialité et la proximité avec les joueurs professionnels.

- 400 enfants qui viennent découvrir le tennis sur gazon
- Un village avec restauration pour les spectateurs

Le plateau de cette édition n’a pas encore été dévoilé mais pour vous mettre « l’eau à la bouche » voici les vainqueurs de l’an dernier : David Goffin (N°9 mondial en 2018) et Alizé Cornet (N°11 mondiale en 2016 et N°2 française)
