C’est quoi un podcast ?
Un podcast c’est un nouveau format, pas si nouveau, de contenu audio numérique que l’on peut écouter partout et tout le temps. Pour la petite anecdote, le mot a été inventé en 2004, la même année où K. Maro sortait son tube Femme like U, ça rajeunit pas.
Il a donc été inventé par un journaliste britannique mega famous, Ben Hammersley. Bon même si tu ne le connais pas, c’est en tout cas bien lui qui en contractant les termes iPod et broadcast, a pour la première fois prononcé le mot. Rigolo non ?
À l’origine, le podcast a surtout permis à des studios indépendants de parler de sujets sociétaux délaissés tels que le féminisme, le genre ou encore le sexe. Ce n’est que bien plus tard que le podcast se démocratisera tel qu’on le connait aujourd’hui. En effet, aujourd’hui les audiences ne cessent d’augmenter et le podcast est devenu un média à part entière avec ses propres codes. Les grands médias se sont d’ailleurs emparés du format en créant leurs chaines de podcasts ou en proposant leurs chroniques habituelles en streaming. C’est également le cas de la presse écrite comme le magazine Les Echos avec son podcast La Story.
Le podcast, le contenu parfait pour le confinement
Tout en te laissant dessiner, tricoter (pourquoi pas ?), faire le ménage, bronzer ou tout ce que tu veux d’autre, le podcast te permet au choix de t’instruire, de rire, d’en savoir plus sur ta célébrité préférée ou encore de simplement réfléchir au sens de la vie. Et oui, parce qu’il y en a pour tous les goûts : scientifique, philosophique, culinaire… Tous les thèmes existent. Avec un format relativement court, généralement moins d’une heure, le podcast te permet ainsi de découvrir pleins de choses et de sortir de ce confinement avec la tête bien remplie.
De nombreuses célébrités se prêtent d’ailleurs au jeu pour des interviews par exemple. Quand on voit la qualité de certaines webcams et de certaines bandes passantes, on se dit d’ailleurs que l’audio suffit parfois amplement !

Pour écouter des podcasts tu peux te rendre sur les plateformes classiques de musiques comme Spotify, AppleMusic, Deezer etc… Tu peux aussi aller faire un tour sur Youtube qui rassemble généralement une grande partie des podcasts qui existent.
Enfin, il y a également des plateformes uniquement dédiées aux podcasts telle que Binge Audio.
