Le mardi 11 janvier le député européen Raphael Glucksmann, qui a l’habitude de dénoncé les catastrophes de notre société, attire notre attention sur la marque de fast fashion Shein.
Shein : qu’est-ce que c’est ?
Shein (de son ancien nom Sheinside) est une marque de Fast-fashion très présente sur les réseaux sociaux, c’est un détaillant chinois de la mode en ligne pour les adultes et les enfants. Elle produit et revend ses propres vêtements. On peut y retrouver aussi des imitations de luxe comme Versace, Bottega Venetta ou encore Dior.
La marque ne possède ni boutique, ni publicité dans la rue, sa communication est uniquement digitale grâce à de nombreux partenariats avec des influenceurs(euses).
Les influenceurs(euses) font la promotion en faisant ce qu’on appelle des « hauls » sur Tiktok, Instagram, ou encore Snapchat. Le concept est de montrer en vidéo les vêtements que l’on a commandé à ses internautes. Ajouté à ça, un code promo.
La marque a eu davantage de notoriété et de ventes grâce au confinement.
La face cachée de la marque
Derrière ses vêtements à moindre coûts se cache un système d’exploitation d’une rare violence.
Les prix très bas des vêtements ne sont pas sans conséquence, ils se répercutent sur les travailleurs.
Dans sa publication Raphael écrit « Selon une enquête de l’ONG public eye, les ouvriers qui produisent pour Shein, qui proviennent des provinces les plus pauvres de Chine, travaillent 12h par jour avec un seul jour de congé par mois, des bâtiments en mauvais état.
Le plus souvent sans contrat de travail et sans assurance. Shein est accusé de non-respect des droits sociaux, conditions de travail délétère, normes de sécurité non-respectées, cadence infernale. »
La marque en plus des conditions de travail lamentables qu’elle fait subir à ses ouvriers, elle participe à la destruction de l’environnement, l’entreprise utilise massivement du polyester composé de pétrole et de gaz transformés.
Malheureusement Shein n’est pas la seule entreprise de Fast Fashion à ne pas faire attention au bien-être de ses travailleurs, à violer les droits sociaux et à participer au saccage environnementale.
