En mai 2021, la Croix-Rouge française a ouvert Chez Henry ; sa boutique de vêtements solidaire à Toulouse. Le concept ? Un lieu d’engagement où l’on peut donner les vêtements que l’on ne porte plus et en acheter de seconde main à petits prix. Tous les bénéfices sont réinvestis dans les actions de la Croix-Rouge de Toulouse.
Chez Henry ou l’économie circulaire
La seconde main, c’est une autre façon de consommer : de manière plus écologique, plus responsable, et à petit budget ! C’est dans cette démarche-là et pour permettre aux plus démunis de se vêtir que Chez Henry s’est installée en plein cœur de Toulouse.
« Chez Henry », c’est en fait un clin d’œil au fondateur de la Croix-Rouge française : Henry Dunant, dont on peut admirer le portrait sur les murs de la boutique. L’association humanitaire a lancé le concept en septembre 2020 qui ne cesse de s’agrandir puisque Toulouse est déjà la 5ème boutique à ouvrir ses portes !
Chez Henry, donner ou acheter un vêtement est un réel un acte d’engagement, écologique et solidaire. La collecte et la vente de vêtements de seconde main s’inscrivent pleinement dans l’économie circulaire ! Par ailleurs, les recettes issues des ventes permettent de financer aides alimentaire, maraudes, cours d’inclusion numérique et toutes les autres actions sociales de la Croix-Rouge de Toulouse.
Avant tout une boutique solidaire
Chez Henry, tout le monde s’engage pour la bonne cause ! Que ce soit les acheteurs, les donneurs, ou encore les bénévoles. En effet, la boutique est gérée entièrement par les bénévoles, en passant par la responsable de la boutique jusqu’aux vendeurs…
Elle accueille également les plus démunis dans « Le petit salon », une pièce aménagée spécialement pour les accueillir et les orienter vers des aides adaptées. Un coupon peut également leur être remis afin qu’ils puissent choisir les vêtements qu’ils souhaitent .
Une friperie au concept original
Acheter de la seconde main, oui ! Mais acheter des vêtements porteurs d’histoires, encore mieux ! Lorsqu’il pénètre dans la boutique, chaque donneur de vêtements est invité à choisir une pièce à laquelle il tient particulièrement. Pour quoi faire ? Transmettre son histoire en l’écrivant sur l’étiquette et le déposer sur le portant dédié aux « vêtements à histoires ».
« Je donne ce vêtement pour lui offrir une nouvelle vie. C’est avec lui que j’ai célébré le mariage de ma grande soeur (il est imbibé de larmes de joie). Je souhaite qu’il vous accompagne dans des moments de joie ! » précise l’étiquette de l’ancien pantalon de Timothé.
En plein milieu de la boutique se trouve également une grande table. Pour quoi faire ? C’est en fait la table d’atelier sur laquelle les bénévoles pourront régulièrement organiser des ateliers aux thématiques diverses et variées, couture, tricot, zéro-déchet, etc.
Le concept permet ainsi donateurs et aux acheteurs de créer du lien avec les bénévoles de la Croix-Rouge de Toulouse et de comprendre l’impact concret de leurs dons. Chez Henry, ils rejoignent une communauté locale de citoyens engagés pour un monde plus humain et solidaire !
