Tout avait pourtant bien commencé ! Le jeudi 30 décembre 2021, Amazon Prime Video invitait sa communauté Instagram à commenter et à voter pour la meilleure bio qui viendra remplacer l’actuelle avec le message suivant « Ne nous décevez pas ». Mais c’était sans compter sur l’imagination et la créativité des internautes…
« Promis, on paiera nos impôts en France »
Au départ, de nombreux internautes ont publié des propositions diverses et variées, jouant sur l’humour et l’actualité. On retrouve par exemple « Plus bonne que la plus bonne de tes plateformes » ou encore « Daddy’s home », sans faire référence au sujet plus que sensible de la fiscalité.
Mais il a suffi d’une seule réponse, « Promis, on paiera nos impôts en France », pour que la toile s’enflamme. Un commentaire (liké plus de 9000 fois) rapidement supprimé par l’équipe d’Amazon Prime Video, qui a fait le choix de jouer la carte de l’ignorance et qui a sélectionné le commentaire « Daddy’s home” en tant que grand vainqueur.
En seulement quelques heures, le CM a du faire face à une avalanche de critiques concernant la pratique de l’optimisation fiscale du géant américain. En effet, des milliers de commentaires “Promis on paiera nos impôts en France” sont venus envahir le post Instagram en question ainsi que les autres réseaux sociaux de la plateforme de streaming.
Amazon Prime Video a tenté de se dépêtrer de l’affaire en supprimant les commentaires concernant les impôts et en épinglant les commentaires jugés les plus drôles, pour que ces derniers soient les plus visibles possibles. Mais cela n’a pas vraiment suffi !
Amazon a appelé sa commu à faire un concours de commentaires pour trouver sa nouvelle bio insta.

Amazon encore pointé du doigt
En mai dernier, une enquête du Guardian révélait qu’Amazon n’avait pas payé d’impôts sur ses bénéfices en Europe malgré un chiffre d’affaires cumulé de 44 milliards d’euros. Comble du cynisme : l’entreprise a même obtenu un crédit d’impôt de 56 millions d’euros.
Julien Bayou, le secrétaire national d’Europe Écologie Les Verts, a d’ailleurs suggéré aux internautes de publier encore plus massivement des commentaires évoquant l’évasion fiscale de la multinationale.
