Vous l’avez très certainement vu ou vous-même partagé, le post de l’influenceuse @mybetterself a fait le tour de la toile cette semaine. Et pour cause, cette dernière s’est engagée aux côtés de Nutuus, Nana et l’association ADSF (agir pour la santé des femmes) dans une opération de lutte contre la précarité menstruelle. Devenue virale et très largement soutenue par les internautes, elle doit à présent faire face aux critiques… Explications.
Coiffée d’une couronne de tampons et tenant une liasse de billets, l’influenceuse @mybetterself a réouvert le débat autour de la précarité menstruelle. Et pour cause, comme affirmé dans son post : « 1,7 millions. C’est le nombre de femmes et personnes menstruées en situation de précarité́ menstruelle en France. Des personnes qui doivent choisir chaque mois entre acheter une boîte de tampons ou avoir assez à manger à la fin de la journée. »
C’est donc dans l’objectif de soutenir ces 1,7 million de femmes dans le besoin qu’elle a lancé une collecte directement sur Instagram : un partage du post en story = une boite de protections périodiques distribuée par la mutuelle Nutuus.
Cette opération de solidarité a rencontré un très franc succès !
Massivement soutenue par les internautes, la photo de @mybetterself a cumulé plus d’un million de likes ! Sans compter les partages et les commentaires qui se comptent par milliers… Et bien que les règles ne concernent que la moitié de la population, les hommes eux aussi se sont associés à ce mouvement solidaire ; nombreux sont ceux qui l’ont également partagée.
Surprise par l’engouement suscité par cette cause et son post, l’influenceuse n‘a pas tardé de remercier sa communauté en story « Je suis tellement fière de vous, je ne m’attendais pas à ça. Ça me touche vraiment ». L’association ADSF a également tenu à saluer le soutien de tout un chacun « Un grand merci de soutenir nos actions auprès des femmes en grande précarité ».
Seulement, l’influenceuse doit à présent essuyer les critiques…
@mybetterself doit faire face à de nombreuses accusations, certains ont notamment émis des doutes quant à la sincérité de cette opération. Ne serait-ce pas un moyen pour l’influenceuse de renforcer sa notoriété et de s’offrir un coup de pub ? Ne serait-ce pas une pratique commerciale déguisée visant à embellir l’image de Nana notamment ? De même, la composition des protections hygiéniques et la problématique du comptage des partages sont pointés du doigt. En effet Instagram ne permet pas de relever les statistiques de partage des publications, rendant compliqué voire impossible le calcul exact de ces derniers.
Dans un nouveau post, @mybetterself apaise les tensions et rappelle le but premier de ce mouvement.
Pour éviter que les critiques n’entachent cette opération de solidarité, l’influenceuse a réalisé un second post Instagram intitulé « la vérité sur ce post » dans lequel elle appuie l’enjeu majeur de ce mouvement : l’aide des personnes en situation de précarité menstruelle.
Elle revient notamment sur l’importance de donner, bien que ce combat soit imparfait et semé d’embuches : « Pour donner des protections menstruelles, il faut que des marques puissent effectuer des dons. Plusieurs marques ont donc accepté de reverser des protections menstruelles. Oui, elles ne sont pas toutes bio. Mais croyez-moi, pour avoir échangé avec des femmes sans domicile fixe et avec de nombreuses associations, ce qu’elles souhaitent juste, c’est avoir accès à des protections »
Quant à la problématique liée au nombre exact de partages, cette dernière est entrée en contact avec le réseau social afin d’obtenir plus visibilité. Enfin, elle souligne également le fait qu’il s’agit là d’une collecte et non d’une campagne rémunérée afin de dissiper les doutes des internautes.
