« 410 000 aller-retours Paris New-York en avion ». Ce chiffre semble énorme et c’est pourtant une réalité, il représente le bilan carbone de la production de films, séries et spots publicitaires en 1 an, en France. Le tournage y est pour beaucoup puisqu’il représente ¼ de cette pollution.
Surconsommation d’électricité, bouteilles en plastique, décors non recyclés et même brûlés, transports des équipes, mégots… sont autant de facteurs qui mériteraient d’être revus pour limiter le bilan carbone de cette industrie.
Certains d’entre vous ont peut être en mémoire la scène d’ouverture d’Apocalypse Now dans laquelle nous voyons une forêt de palmiers qui part en fumée. Cette scène a été réalisée sans trucage : 4 500 litres d’essence pour incendier la forêt, en y ajoutant quelques pneus pour plus de fumée et donc plus de réalisme …
La conscience « green » arrive sur les plateaux
La prise de conscience se fait sentir et les initiatives fleurissent … Attention, Hollywood arrive en France !
« Il s’agit forcément d’une démarche de progrès, car on ne peut pas du jour au lendemain changer tous les équipements et les modes d’organisation, puisque la profession agit en flux tendu. Néanmoins, le passage à la HD par exemple, est l’occasion de revoir également les éclairages« , explique Monica Fossati, consultante en environnement pour Ecoprod.
Prenons l’exemple de la nouvelle série « L’Effondrement » diffusée sur MyCanal. La production a fait appel à des consultants verts et a transformé le plateau en un espace écologique et responsable : les équipes transportées en minibus, les bouteilles plastiques transformées en gourde en aluminium, le tri sélectif mis en place, les mégots recyclés pour en faire du mobilier urbain … et même les maquilleurs étaient équipés de cotons réutilisables.
Des organismes comme « la réserve des arts » en région parisienne ou « ArtStock » en région PACA sont spécialisés dans la récupération et le reconditionnement des décors, costumes et accessoires.
« Pour rendre un tournage plus vert, il faut changer toutes nos habitudes, explique Andréa Vistoli, producteur de L’Effondrement.
Secoya, société d’Eco-tournage en pleine expansion
Pionnière dans son secteur, l’entreprise Secoya Eco-tournage, fondée en avril 2018 par deux anciens régisseurs, est vouée à un bel avenir. Les productions sont respectueuses de la planète et plus économiques.
Elle a déjà « éco-produit » plusieurs films et séries comme « Poly » ou encore « Baron noir », ainsi que des publicités pour Zara, Garnier bio ou Louis Vuitton.
La demande augmente de jour en jour. Secoya compte aujourd’hui quatre collaborateurs et « doit même refuser des projets ».
Secoya et quelques chiffres clés :
– Économies réalisées : 119 271€
– Kilos de poubelles recyclés : 3 326 kg
– Bouteilles d’eau économisées : 127 805
– Capsules de café évitées : 136 980
– Gobelets évités : 291 745
– Nombre de techniciens sensibilisés : 1 065
Produire vert n’engendre pas forcément de surcoût… au contraire.
Pour rester sur la série « L’Effondrement », Andréa Vistoli explique que la démarche a même engendré des économies : « On a imprimé 15 scénarios chaque jour plutôt que 200… Et on a conclu des partenariats avec des marques de produits éthiques. Le retour en termes de communication est très positif »
La région Ile de France a même mis en place une récompense pour les productions les plus vertueuses. Récompense allant de 25.000 à 100.000 euros pour les films qui appliquent une stratégie verte … Comme quoi, un transport en minibus en vaut le coup !
