En plein mois de décembre, on repense tous à notre été avec une pointe de nostalgie. Mais pour vite se réconforter de notre doudoune, on vous propose un récap des plus gros fails de festivals.
Quand on vous dit festival qui a échoué, tout le monde pense bien évidemment au Fyre Festival (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mz5kY3RsmKo).
Pourquoi le Fyre Festival paraissait si parfait ?
Grâce à une bonne communication !
Les organisateurs du festival ont tout misé sur les influenceurs. Ils organisent un week-end sur l’île privée de Pablo Escobar aux Bahamas en invitant les plus grandes influenceuses : Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner ou encore Emily Ratajkowski. Ils tournent un teaser pendant le week-end avec tous les codes pour donner envie à n’importe qui de venir.
Ce teaser est relayé sur les réseaux des stars et du Fyre, avec également une publication mystérieuse d’une image orange accompagnée du hashtag #fyrefestival. Ce post est partagé par plus de 400 influenceurs sur Instagram.
Résultat : 48h après l’ouverture de la billetterie, le festival affiche complet, du jamais vu !
Malheureusement, on connait la suite, ça ne s’est pas du tout passé comme ça aurait dû !
Les milliers de festivaliers venus sur place ont vite déchanté en voyant le site. Rien ne ressemblait aux images, l’île n’était pas celle du narcotrafiquant, les villas étaient de simples tentes, le repas (pour les chanceux qui en ont eu) était une tranche de pain et du fromage et aucune scène n’était installée.
Le festival est annulé sans aucune explication, les participants se retrouvent bloqués sur l’île, les partenaires et prestataires ne sont pas payés. Bref, une belle escroquerie de Billy MacFarland et du rappeur Ja Rule.
Personne n’aurait pu prévoir ça au vu des moyens de la campagne de communication qui n’était en faite qu’une illusion.
Dans le même registre mais moins connu on retrouve le Vestiville en Belgique.
Le Vestiville partait pourtant bien : des grosses têtes d’affiche comme Cardi B, Jason Derulo, Maitre Gims ou A$ap Rocky, des locations de villas pour la nuit, des activités dignes de Coachella.
Exactement le même schéma que le Fyre, des influenceurs invités et des noms attrayants.
Mais encore une fois, ça ne se passe pas comme prévu : les portes du festival ne s’ouvrent jamais, la mairie de Lommel, la ville d’accueil annule le festival le vendredi soir, les organisateurs sont en fuite, les navettes pour rejoindre les villas sont annulées, la police disperse les festivaliers… Une scène de chaos !

Des organisateurs ayant les yeux plus gros que le ventre comme on dit, beaucoup trop d’ambition n’est jamais bon. La communication et la vente de billets ne fait pas tout dans un festival.
