Qu’est-ce que le Zevent ?
Histoire et principe
Ce concept de marathon caritatif a été créé en 2010 avec le « Game Done Quick » aux Etats-Unis. Le but est de récolter un maximum de dons pendant trois jours pour une association caritative.
Le Zevent est arrivé bien après, le 4 mars 2016 en France, créé par deux streamers Adrien Nougaret (Pseudonyme : Zerator) et Alexandre Dachary (Pseudonyme : Dach).
Le principe est exactement le même obtenir un maximum de dons pour des associations. Cet événement se passe sur la plateforme de streaming Twitch.
Chaque année les associations bénéficiaires changent : « Save the Children » en 2016, la « Croix Rouge française » en 2017, les « Médecins sans frontières » en 2018, « l’institut Pasteur » en 2019, « Amnesty International France » en 2020 et « Action contre la faim » cette année.
Comment se déroule le Zevent ?
Chaque année, les deux fondateurs de cet événement réunissent un panel de streamers le temps d‘un week-end.
Au programme plus de 50 heures de streaming en continu sur des jeux vidéo, des discussions, des défis, des activités communes etc. Chaque intervenant se plie en quatre afin d’offrir un maximum de divertissement à sa communauté pendant ces 3 jours.
Chaque streamers encourage ses viewers à faire monter les dons en proposant un programme de « donations goal », le principe est, qu’à chaque pallier de donation atteint (exemple : 100 000€), l’influenceur doit faire une action ou un défi. Le but est de récolter un maximum d’argent grâce au divertissement proposé.
L’argent que la communauté donne à son streamer va dans sa cagnotte individuel et toutes les cagnottes individuelles additionnées donnent la cagnotte globale.
Ils poussent leur créativité au maximum afin de pouvoir remplir chacun leur cagnotte individuel et faire monter la cagnotte globale plus haute chaque année.
Donc si la communauté veut voir son streamer préféré faire des défis, elle a tout intérêt à donner de l’argent.
De plus, dans la cagnotte globale s’ajoute les ventes de produits dérivés, bien souvent des tee-shirts, qui représentent chaque année un énorme montant, cette année par exemple plus de 172 000 tee-shirts ont été vendus.
Le pouvoir des streamers dans la collecte de dons
Les organisateurs misent sur la capacité des influenceurs à encourager leur communauté à faire un maximums de dons.
Grâce aux nombreux influenceurs Gaming, d’une année à l’autre la cagnotte globale bat tous les records, notamment cette année avec 10 millions d’euros récoltés pour « Action contre la faim », une ONG française qui se bat contre la malnutrition dans le monde.
Depuis 2019 le Zevent détient le record mondial de donations pour un événement caritatif retransmis sur Twitch. Cela prouve que le streaming est un élément incontournable de la culture française.
Les influenceurs gaming encouragent à faire preuve de solidarité en donnant ne serait-ce qu’un euro.
Attention : il n’y a aucune obligation a donner de l’argent et il n’y a pas non plus un montant minimum, tout le monde est libre de donner la somme qui lui fait plaisir.
Ils utilisent leur pouvoir et leur notoriété pour la bonne cause. Certains même font aussi des dons pour l’association bénéficiaire comme Squeezie qui a donné 40 000€ cette année.
Cet événement est un bon moyen pour encourager les personnes à aider les associations caritatives et les personnes dans le besoin. Les streamers poussent les spectateurs, qui en temps normal ne font peut-être pas de dons, à participer à une cause humanitaire et même peut-être à les inciter à faire des actions comme celle-ci tout le reste de l’année.
