Le marché du vrac : un marché en plein boom qui a connu une augmentation de 41% entre 2018 et 2019. Face à l’engouement des consommateurs pour cette nouvelle technique de vente, de plus en plus d’acteurs s’implantent sur ce marché. Dernièrement c’est le pari que s’est lancé Michel et Augustin grâce à sa collaboration avec Day by Day.
La vente en vrac, qu’est-ce que c’est ?
Vous en avez déjà vaguement entendu parler ? C’est normal, la vente en vrac tend à se démocratiser de plus en plus.
Mais qu’est-ce que c’est exactement ? Selon notre ami Wikipédia, la vente en vrac, très présente au XIXème siècle, « consiste à vendre au consommateur des produits de consommation sans emballage et en quantité choisie par le consommateur, qui l’emporte dans des contenants réutilisables ». Ainsi, les objectifs de cette vente sont à la fois économiques et écologiques.
Vous vous demandez pourquoi acheter vos produits en vrac ?
- D’un point de vue économique, la vente en vrac vous permettra d’économiser le prix de l’emballage, qui très souvent pèse beaucoup sur le prix de vente d’un produit.
- D’un point de vue écologique, la vente en vrac a ses avantages. En effet, très souvent, cette vente s’installe dans la continuité d’une démarche plus responsable. Effectivement, tout d’abord, l’absence d’emballage permet de diminuer l’empreinte écologique de votre achat. De plus, très souvent, les produits vendus en vrac sont de nature biologique, équitables et locaux. Ainsi, ce processus de vente se glisse dans une démarche de consommation plus responsable.
Où peut-on acheter en vrac ?
Face à l’engouement des consommateurs pour la vente en vrac, plusieurs magasins s’y sont mis. Parmi eux, on retrouve la chaîne Day by Day, créée en 2013, qui commercialise plus de 700 produits en vrac dans ces magasins. On peut y trouver tous types de produits dont du café, des boissons, du savon, des cosmétiques mais aussi des produits d’entretiens et des produits animaliers.
Pour faire face à l’émergence de ces groupes et des magasins bio, la grande distribution s’est également mise à la vente en vrac. Que ce soit Carrefour, Leclerc ou bien d’autres, on remarque que ces derniers ont installé des systèmes de vente en vrac dans leurs enseignes que ce soit pour les produits frais mais aussi d’autres produits comme les céréales, les produits bio etc.
Mais pourquoi certains résistent-ils encore à la vente en vrac ?
Malgré que certains valident et instaurent ce type de vente, d’autres émettent des freins. En effet, certains groupes considèrent que tous les produits ne se prêtent pas à la vente en vrac notamment pour des raisons bactériologiques etc. Pour les enseignes, certains sont resistants à la vente en vrac pour des raisons pratiques, dont le risque de vol, de saleté etc.
Attention ! Si vous n’avez pas encore institué le vrac dans votre magasin, le projet de loi Climat et Résilience prévoit d’instaurer 20% de vrac obligatoire dans certains supermarchés.
La vente en vrac pour Michel et Augustin
Face au boom de la demande, Michel et Augustin a pris le parti de commercialiser certains de leurs produits, à savoir leurs biscuits apéritifs, en vrac depuis le 20 avril 2021. En effet, désormais, on peut les retrouver dans ce format dans les magasins de la chaîne Day by Day.
Pourquoi un tel choix ? Selon le directeur général, Sébastien Guillon, ce choix s’est fait pour deux raisons :
- Dans un premier temps, les échanges avec leur communauté tournaient de plus en plus autour du packaging. Contrairement au début, en 2018, les préoccupations concernant les emballages et le plastique utilisé ont nettement augmentées. En effet, à la mi-2020, 6.7% des demandes de leur communauté étaient en lien avec le plastique utilisé pour l’emballage et le suremballage de leurs produits.
- Ensuite, ce choix s’est justifié par le comportement de leurs trublions. Ils se sont rendus compte que la majorité de leurs employés achetaient déjà en vrac. Ainsi, cela s’inscrit dans la logique de l’équipe.
Et ne vous inquiétez pas, les petits biscuits restent toujours autant savoureux. La marque a pris beaucoup de précautions pour conserver la qualité de ses produits. Pour cela, de nombreux tests ont été réalisé et leur ont permis de constater que les biscuits apéritifs pouvaient rester en vrac sur une durée de 6 semaines sans que la qualité de ces derniers ne soit altérée.
Alors n’hésitez plus, que ce soit pour notre belle nature ou pour votre porte-monnaie, optez pour l’achat en vrac, y compris pour vos biscuits apéritifs préférés !
