Evènement planétaire, la coupe du monde 2022 va rassembler des milliards de spectateurs devant leur écran, poste radio, etc. Devant déjà faire face à de nombreuses critiques, d’un point de vue environnemental mais également sociétal, le comité d’organisation du Mondial 2022 se serait bien passé de cette nouvelle affaire.
En effet, une nouvelle critique surgit sur les moyens qu’utilise le Qatar pour séduire et attirer les supporters du monde entier. Entre nuits d’hôtel, billets de match, visa prépayées, … il semblerait que tous les moyens soient permis pour arriver à ses fins. De plus, selon certains témoignages, l’organisation inciterais ces supporters à laisser des commentaires positifs et élogieux sur le Qatar.
À partir de 2020, dans le cadre d’une gigantesque opération de communication, de nombreux supporters du monde entier ont été sollicités en leur proposant de devenir des « Fan Leaders », des ambassadeurs de la coupe du monde de football auprès des autres supporters et fans, en en faisant la promotion notamment sur les réseaux sociaux. Ce qui a été refusé par de nombreux supporters n’étant pas habitué à de telles méthodes notamment pour de grands évènements de ce genre.
Une communication très encadrée
Au total, c’est des centaines de fans et des dizaines de nations qui ont collaboré à ce projet selon le comité d’organisation qui assure que tout ceci est bien légal. D’autant que selon leur dire, tout ceci est complètement volontaire et non rémunéré avec aucune obligation de contenus.
Cependant, en lisant de plus près le code de conduite de ces fameux « ambassadeurs », il existe des « principes » à respecter quand on publie sur les réseaux sociaux. Au premier abord, il est stipulé que les ambassadeurs sont entièrement libres dans leur opinion, cependant, il est également précisé qu’il ne serait absolument pas approprié de dénigrer le Qatar, le comité d’organisation ou encore la Coupe du monde.
De plus, toujours selon ce code de conduite, un excellent « ambassadeur » est dans l’obligation de signaler, capturer et enfin supprimer chaque commentaire offensant, dégradant et abusif envers le comité d’organisation ou le Qatar qui appartiendrait à son audience. Souvenez-vous… tout ceci est complètement volontaire et non rémunéré (en principe), cependant, en échange, le Qatar propose à ces « ambassadeurs » de nombreux avantages, comme des : « tickets pour des matches et événements », « cadeaux », visites de stades et autres invitations.
Le comité d’organisation s’est lancé ces dernières semaines dans une dernière vague d’invitations. Cette dernière concerne principalement la cérémonie d’ouverture du 20 novembre. Certes, le comité d’organisation rappelle que tous les invités viendront de façon volontaire et sans la moindre rémunération. En effet, il n’y a aucune présence de rémunération officielle, cependant, de nombreux avantages en nature existe…

De plus, dans un document transmis aux délégations d’invités, il est également convenu de faire participer les « ambassadeurs » à la scénarisation de la cérémonie d’ouverture où il sera attendu d’eux qu’ils se lèvent, chantent et agitent les drapeaux devant les caméras.
En échange de cela, le billet d’avion aller-retour est payé, mais également l’hébergement, dans des « appartements » équipés de « chambres doubles ». Enfin, « 68 dollars par jour seront fournis » à chaque participant pour « la nourriture, les boissons, la lessive », à la suite d’une « carte Visa prépayée offerte ».
Enfin, plusieurs supporters ont assuré que ces multiples invitations dépassaient largement le cadre de la cérémonie d’ouverture en demandant aux « ambassadeurs » d’y aller pour au moins 10 jours. De nombreux supporters trouvent qu’un nouveau cap a été passé et que cela frise le ridicule car ils estiment que leur plan d’action est l’achat de supporters et que cela ne correspond pas à l’image des supporters.
On l’aura donc bien compris, cette coupe du monde au Qatar ne fait absolument pas l’unanimité, entre déboire écologique, crise sociétale et des méthodes de communications pas très orthodoxes, elle ne laisse personne indifférent.
