Le Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, plus communément appelé Coachella Festival, est un événement créé en 1999, par Paul Tollett et Rick Van Santen. Depuis 2012, des artistes en tout genre se produisent sur six scènes différentes : rock alternatif, musique électronique, hip hop, … Il y en a pour tous les goûts ! Cet événement se déroule chaque année dans la vallée de Coachella, à proximité de Palm Springs. Ça fait rêver n’est ce pas ?
Autrefois, ce festival se déroulait sur quatre jours. Fort de son succès, il occupe désormais deux week-ends du mois d’avril et les artistes se produisent deux fois durant le festival ! Save the date : cette année, Coachella est prévu du vendredi 12 avril au dimanche 21 avril 2019. D’ailleurs, depuis 10 ans, le Coachella Festival est désigné comme le meilleur au monde selon le magazine Rolling Stone et reste considéré par celui ci comme étant l’un des meilleurs événements de musique électronique aux côtés de Tomorrowland, l’Ultra et l’EDC4. Et Coachella n’a pas volé cette réputation : 150 artistes internationaux, plus de 200 000 festivaliers attendus, 32 hectares de folie et d’ambiance ! Cette année, les grosses têtes du showbiz américain sont attendues : Ariana Grande, le groupe de rock Tame Impala mais également le français Dj Snake ou encore Christine and the Queens. Une autre tête d’affiche vient s’ajouter à ce beau monde : le rappeur américain Kanye West qui a récemment annoncé sa venue sur ses réseaux sociaux. Celui ci prévoit de donner une messe pour Pâques…à Coachella. Original n’est ce pas ?

Coachella est désormais considéré comme l’un des plus grands festivals annuels aux États-unis en générant près de 84 millions de dollars de recettes en 2017 ! Malgré des prix allant de 429$ à 999$, les billets d’entrée se vendent chaque année comme des petits pains. Et ça, les marques l’ont bien compris. Alors, nombreuses sont celles qui sponsorisent les soirées ambiancées du festival Californien. Lors de l’édition 2018, Poppy et Kylie Cosmetics s’associaient lors de la fête Paradise in the Desert avec pour sponsor BMW. Cette année l’une des grandes soirées annoncées pour cette nouvelle édition de Coachella, est celle de Moschino. Nouvelle qui devrait ravir les amateurs de mode.
Coachella, le nouvel événement avant-gardiste de la mode
Coachella n’est plus uniquement un festival musical au sens stricte du terme mais est devenu au cours des années, un événement mondain où tous les moyens sont bons pour se faire remarquer ! En effet, le festival est devenu, en partie, célèbre pour les tenues hautes en couleurs de ses participants. Celles ci trouvent d’ailleurs leurs inspirations dans les cultures amérindiennes et afro-américaines. Vêtements colorés, accessoires insolites, maquillage recherché et tape à l’oeil… Tout ce qu’on aime mais qu’on n’ose pas porter, peut l’être à Coachella !
