Le groupe Facebook change de nom : top ou flop?
Pas de panique, il s’agit de la maison mère et non pas du réseau social Facebook.
En effet, Marc Zuckerberg a annoncé le jeudi 28 octobre 2021 que les plates-formes Facebook et Instagram, les messageries WhatsApp et Messenger appartiennent désormais à Meta.
Qui dit nouveau nom, dit nouveau logo :
Une icône bleue rappelant un symbole infini et les lunettes de réalité virtuelle Oculus qui appartient au groupe.
Pourquoi ce nouveau nom?
L’objectif est de mettre en avant le Metaverse, une contraction de « meta » (« au-delà », en grec ancien, pour montrer qu’il y a « toujours plus à construire ») et « univers ».
Le Metaverse est un « univers virtuel fictif, dans lequel les individus pourraient évoluer dans des espaces persistants et partagés, en trois dimensions ».
Facebook se concentre maintenant sur la construction de l’avenir des réseaux sociaux, et le futur n’est ni dans le monde réel ni sur votre ordinateur.
C’est un univers complètement différent entre la réalité virtuelle et la réalité augmentée sur lequel Marc Zuckerberg décide de parier avec Meta.
Effectivement, avec ce changement de nom, Facebook affirme sa volonté de travailler sur une nouvelle expérience utilisateur.
Notre monde devient de plus en plus connecté et je comprends que certains se posent des questions…
Qui dit nouveau nom, dit nouveau logo
L’animation présentée par l’entreprise montre sur une vidéo l’union de l’ensemble des plateformes du groupe pour devenir une seule et même unité.
Prenant la forme du symbole de l’infini, ce nouveau logo semble promettre que le groupe ne reculera devant rien
Les raisons de ce « lifting » ?
- Probablement l’envie de se séparer d’une image de plus en plus vieillissante associée au nom du premier réseau social.
- La possibilité de court-circuiter la crise de réputation associée au nom de « Facebook » dans l’histoire de Facebook Papers.
- L’opportunité de s’approprier le mouvement Metaverse qui intrigue de plus en plus le monde du digital.
Les conséquences de ce changement ?
Une nouvelle marque, une nouvelle identité c’est une nouvelle vision et surtout de nouveaux objectifs pour tous les employés mais aussi pour toutes les entreprises qui dépendent de Facebook pour vivre.
Nous attendons donc avec impatience de connaître les nouveaux défis que Mark Zuckerberg souhaite relever.
