Alors que les marques évoluent du Web 2.0 au Web 3, elles doivent adopter de nouvelles technologies pour rester compétitives. DÉFINITION DU NFTs
L’acronyme NFT signifie « jetons non fongibles ». Ce sont des éléments cryptographiques et virtuels basés sur la technologie blockchain. Quelle est la particularité des NFT ? Ils ont des codes d’identification uniques. Ce sont des titres de propriété numériques immuables, garantissant ainsi l’authenticité aux acquéreurs. Ils ne peuvent ni être échangés ni utilisés pour le commerce, contrairement aux cybermonnaies.
L’ÉMERGENCE DES JETONS NON FONGIBLES
Issus du monde de la crypto-monnaie / du jeu virtuel, les jetons non fongibles étaient à l’origine favorisés par une population de niche : les geeks. Ils ont été utilisés pour acquérir des cartes de jeu virtuelles sur des plateformes spécifiques, telles que NBA Top Shot. Le NFT s’est ensuite propagé grâce au jeu Cryptokitties, des chatons virtuels uniques à élever.
Cette nouvelle technologie, fortement liée au concept de métavers, a conquis de nouveaux marchés, notamment avec l’art numérique et s’est étendue à la mode, au luxe, à l’alimentation ou encore à l’immobilier. Début 2021, le marché des NFT représentait 2,7 milliards de dollars et a atteint 10,7 milliards au troisième trimestre 2021, une croissance exponentielle qui a convaincu les marques d’investir dans cette technologie et d’intégrer les NFT dans leurs stratégies de communication et leurs campagnes marketing.
COMMENT LES NFT RAPPROCHENT LES MARQUES DE SES CLIENTS ?
En reconnaissant et en répondant à n’importe quel NFT dans n’importe quel portefeuille d’utilisateur, les marques peuvent se connecter avec leurs clients de manière nouvelle et innovante.
Avec la capacité de reconnaître et de répondre aux NFT en temps réel via un site Web de marque ou un programme de fidélité, les marques peuvent tirer parti des NFT comme un nouveau pont de connexion entre les clients de grande valeur et les produits et services de la marque qu’ils aiment.

Acheteurs et collectionneurs sont ainsi assurés d’avoir en leur possession une œuvre d’art unique et immuable.
Côté marché de l’art, c’est une véritable révolution qui casse les codes de ce secteur. Les NFT le rendent accessible à un plus grand nombre et attirent de nouvelles cibles, qui n’auraient pas forcément investi dans l’art traditionnel. Les millenials affectionnent particulièrement cet art émergent.
Au cinéma, la tendance NFT séduit aussi. La plateforme Vuele a distribué le premier film de fiction, mettant en vedette Anthony Hopkins, en utilisant des jetons non fongibles. Prochainement, Quentin Tarantino dévoilera 7 scènes exclusives de son célèbre film Pulp Fiction.
NFTs PREND L’INDUSTRIE ALIMENTAIRE
Après avoir conquis le monde culturel, c’est désormais au tour des géants de la restauration rapide d’être séduits par cette technologie. En mars 2021, c’est la chaîne de restauration rapide Taco Bell qui a sauté dans le train en marche pour proposer des jetons de collection, appelés Taco Art, qui représentaient des illustrations artistiques des offres de la chaîne.
Il a été rapidement rattrapé par Burger King, qui a lancé sa propre campagne de marketing « Keep it Real Meals ». Une gamme d’objets de collection numériques à obtenir sous la forme d’un jeu, qui donnait accès à des cadeaux uniques lors de l’obtention de trois NFT.
McDonalds a également rejoint la tendance, célébrant le retour de son McRib. La filiale américaine a lancé une édition limitée de jetons non fongibles en l’honneur de son sandwich. Quant à sa franchise chinoise, elle a créé 188 NFT pour les clients et les employés pour célébrer son 31e anniversaire. En France, la marque au M jaune iconique a proposé 4 oeuvres numériques, en 5 exemplaires, à gagner via un concours sur les réseaux sociaux. Une opération qui a été un franc succès !
Au Canada, la chaîne de restaurants Pizza Hut a innové en proposant des pizzas virtuelles, vendues séparément.
Dans l’industrie alimentaire au sens large, la marque Pringles a sorti un produit pour le moins original : 50 emballages virtuels « CryptoCrisp ».
LES MARQUES QUI ONT RÉUSSI LEURS NFTs
2021 a été l’année où les NFT se sont généralisés. Et bien qu’il y ait eu des flops très médiatisés, certaines marques ont également réussi avec leur lancement NFT.
Les NFT les plus réussis ont quelques points communs. D’une part, ils sont sur la marque, ce qui signifie que les consommateurs peuvent voir immédiatement comment le NFT s’intègre dans l’écosystème et l’histoire plus larges de la marque. Ils ciblent également la communauté existante de la marque, car ce sont les personnes les plus susceptibles d’être enthousiasmées et investies dans un NFT lié à la marque. Et enfin, ils sont authentiques et rares, deux qualités essentielles pour tout NFT, quelle que soit l’opportunité de revente future.
LE SECRET DE REUSSITE DE NIKE EN NFT
Le premier est Nike, qui s’est associé à RTFKT Studios sur un projet appelé Cryptokicks. Le projet portait sur des baskets numériques à collectionner, et il ne s’écartait pas loin de leur modèle établi basé sur la rareté des gouttes dans le monde réel. Là où cela différait, c’était dans le fait que les propriétaires de NFT partageraient les futures redevances des ventes secondaires avec Nike et RTFKT. C’était un tout nouveau modèle de « fan-as-owner » que nous n’aurions pas pu imaginer il y a cinq ans.
Les fans de Nike étaient clairement enthousiasmés par le projet, comme en témoigne le fait que des milliers de NFT se sont rapidement vendus – et à des taux pouvant atteindre près d’un demi-million de dollars pièce. Comment ont-ils fait pour que cela se produise ? Simple. Le projet était sur la marque et ciblait les fans existants, donc beaucoup tiendront ces baskets en édition limitée de la même manière qu’ils le font dans le monde réel, c’est-à-dire comme un bien précieux à montrer à leurs amis.
LA RÉUSSITE DU MAGAZINE TIME EN NFT
Le magazine Time a lancé son premier projet NFT avec une collection en trois parties de couvertures de magazines numérisées des décennies passées. C’était un magnifique projet de marque qui a donné aux fans l’opportunité de posséder une tranche numérique unique de l’histoire du temps. Les détenteurs de NFT pourraient débloquer des abonnements gratuits à Time et d’autres avantages essentiels à leur plaisir du produit lui-même. Time a collecté plus de 10 millions de dollars de revenus supplémentaires grâce aux baisses de NFT au cours de la dernière année.

Enfin, il y a Space Beyond de La Prairie Suisse et l’artiste numérique de renommée mondiale Carla Chan. Le projet impliquait un art numérique éternel et génératif qui s’appuie sur des données démographiques et environnementales en direct dans les 31 villes les plus peuplées du monde. Le projet est né de l’engagement de la marque La Prairie envers les arts et l’environnement.
Ces trois marques ont deux choses en commun : elles ont trouvé des moyens d’utiliser les NFT qui sont fidèles à leur identité de marque et ont apporté de la valeur aux fans existants.
